Because Digest Plus is a mix of nonpathogenic bacteria, it is non-corrosive, non-alkaline and non-acid meaning it won't harm plumbing - even garbage disposals. NOTE: Cold reduces the effectiveness of this product and there will be no bacteria activity below 40°F.
